{"id":106,"date":"2008-08-16T20:40:07","date_gmt":"2008-08-17T02:40:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jen.jllocke.com\/blog\/?p=106"},"modified":"2008-08-16T20:40:07","modified_gmt":"2008-08-17T02:40:07","slug":"unrelated-adorable-dogs-and-a-funny-article-about-michael-phelps","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jen.jllocke.com\/blog\/2008\/08\/unrelated-adorable-dogs-and-a-funny-article-about-michael-phelps\/","title":{"rendered":"Unrelated: Adorable Dogs and a Funny Article about Michael Phelps"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For a laugh-out-loud experience, please visit <a href=\"http:\/\/dailyviews.runnersworld.com\/2008\/08\/michael-phelps.html\">this Runner&#8217;s World article<\/a> now!<\/p>\n<p>Now, on to the adorable dogs.\u00a0 Jerry and I have been considering, for quite some time, the adoption of a needful dog as a final (for now) addition to our small menagerie.\u00a0 Today, I think we found the breed we are looking for.\u00a0 One look at a <a href=\"http:\/\/images.google.com\/images?hl=en&amp;q=shiba+inu&amp;um=1&amp;ie=UTF-8&amp;sa=X&amp;oi=image_result_group&amp;resnum=1&amp;ct=title\">Shiba Inu<\/a> and we were googly-eyed.\u00a0 Then we went to a local pet store to look at the cute puppies, not expecting to find anything close to what we were looking for.\u00a0 But lo and behold, there was a Shiba Inu.\u00a0 We asked to take a look at it and we got to play with her for a little bit.\u00a0 She was a lovely dog.\u00a0 I wish she was here with us right now, but at the price of $829, we opted to leave her there and pursue other avenues.\u00a0 Besides, I have a general aversion to pet stores when there are so many animals at shelters and humane societies caring for animals in real need of good homes.\u00a0 So I have found a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shibarescue.org\/\">Shiba Inu<\/a> rescue that coordinates new homes with dogs in need for a much smaller fee.\u00a0 Now, I only hope they find our application worthy of caring for one of these little balls of furry fun.\u00a0 Keep your fingers crossed for us!!!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For a laugh-out-loud experience, please visit this Runner&#8217;s World article now!
