I was bored beyond belief during the first third of the book. Thank goodness the action picked up along the way. But, even though the action picked up, the story was told in a dull sort of way. And maybe it was the narrator, really. He wasn&#8217;t monotone so much as he just seemed disinterested. His reading was completely emotionless.
