Lessons I’m learning from the Melt the ICE hat

I made my first Melt the ICE (MTI) hat several weeks ago. It was for me. That way, whatever mistakes I made are mine to wear. I thought the hat was a little small for my head, so for the next hat, I added an inch to the ribbing and 4 rows of stockinette after the ribbing but before the decreases. I like it a little bigger like this. Then I saw people talking about adding a knit row in the ribbing where you want to fold up the brim to create a nice edge. So I added that in the third hat. I love it! I’m just starting my fourth hat, and I think I’ll stick with the same alterations.
